Named after legendary Seattle SuperSonics point guard and NBA Hall of Famer, the Gary Payton strain is the result of a collaboration between Cookies and Powerzzzup Genetics. This gassy cultivar provides a debilitating “couch-lock” body high quite befitting for the nickname “The Glove”, as Gary was known for his defensive skills – he was well-known for even slowing down the great Michael Jordan. If you’re looking for a long-lasting body buzz, this is the strain for you.
The Gary Payton strain was bred by Kenny of Powerzzzup Genetics, who crossed The Y with Snowman in partnership with his friend Berner’s Cookies brand. From the seeds that grew out, the 20th phenotype became the elite “keeper” strain and the basketball-obsessed crew immediately thought of Gary Payton who wore the number 20 throughout his illustrious career. Berner reached out to GP through mutual Bay Area friends and they struck a deal to license Gary’s name and likeness for this smooth strain.
The flowers themselves are dense tight frosty little nuggets that glisten in the light. A closer look under a loupe reveals some purple hues with bright orange hairs. The scent is strong and super gassy – heavy with diesel fuel terpenes that reek up a whole room when a bag is opened.
